Married with four kids, lives in Newe Monosson, Israel. Kohavi also served as an Independent M&A Manager, Chairman and Director in top-end Israeli companies, and as Company-Chief Executive Officer at Meitav Corporate Finance, one of Israel leading investment houses. Kohavi, an Israeli Special Forces officer, began working on drinking water solution in 2008 after observing the logistics challenges Israeli forces had during the Israeli-Lebanon conflict two years earlier.

The idea was to provide independency for the troops on the field an embedded 120-pound system on the vehicle extracts water from ambient air and is capable of creating 12.6 gallons in 24 hours at 75 degrees Fahrenheit and 55 percent humidity. On June 2009 Kohavi founded Water-General a company that design state-of-the-art solutions for supplying water.
Water-General solutions for the defense sector include: atmospheric water generation (drinking water-from-air), treatment of air conditioning run-off water, and battery-operated mobile water purification units. The company has been selling its products to customers such as the United States Army, United Kingdom Army, Israel Defense Forces, French Army, and civilian applications such as home-appliance water generator.
Atmospheric water generation can also be regarded as air dehumidification.
This field includes common home appliances such as air dehumidifiers, equipment for dry storage, air conditioners, and even laundry dryers, launched in cooperating with global manufacturers.
