Barbara J. Parker studied at the University of South Florida, where she received a degree in theatre arts. Then, she pursued her education at the University of Miami School of Law which provided her with a legal degree.
Barbara J. Parker started her career in the field of law. After graduation, she joined the Florida state attorney's office where she worked as a prosecutor for eight years. Then, she established her own legal practice.
The first adventure story she produced was written especially for her son. After some time, Parker left her practice to concentrate on writing. She made her literary debut in 1994 with ‘Suspicion of Innocence’, the story of a resourceful attorney who must solve the mystery of her sister’s death, which initially been deemed a suicide.
The debut volume was followed by the series of seven books published the subsequent years. The main characters of the series were named Gail Connor and Sam Hagan, a prosecuting attorney.
In addition to Suspicion series, Parker also authored five other volumes, the last of which, ‘The Reckoning’, remained unfinished.
