Kyukin Susukida was born in 1877 in Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
Attended Okayama Middle School.
Started the magazine Shotenchi (A Little Universe) in Osaka (1900). Joined the Osaka Mainichi Shimbun (newspaper) (1912) but resigned because of illness. Was a guest member of the ivaka magazine Myojo. Collected edition of his poems include Botekishu (The Evening Whistle - collected poems), Nijugo-gen (Twenty-Five Strings) and Hakuyosha (The Aries). Ranked with Yumei Kambara as one of the representative poets of the early 1900's.
