Aleksey Prasolov was born on October 13, 1930 in Ivanovka village of Rossoshansky district, Voronezh oblast. Comes from a peasant family. His father, Timofey Grigorievich Prasolov, died at the front.

Aleksey Timofeevich finished an incomplete secondary education in Morozovka village of the Rossoshansky district in 1946. Then studied in Rossosh normal school, where he graduated from in 1951.
After graduation Aleksey Timofeevich worked as a school teacher. He was then a proof-reader in the editorial office of newspaper "Molodoy kommunar" (1953-1955), a staff member of a number of district newspapers of Voronezh region (Rossosh, Novaya Kalitva, Petropavlovka, Anna, Repievka, Hohol and others).
He lived in Voronezh since May, 1971. Aleksey Timofeevich had been published since 1949 in Rossoshansk newspaper "Zarya kommunizma". 10 Prasolov’s poems were published in the magazine "Novy Mir"(1964, №8). During the lifetime several collections of poems were published: "Den' y noch' " ("Day and night", Voronezh, 1966), "Lirika" ( "Lyrics", Moscow, 1966), "Zemlia I zenit" ("The earth and zenith", Voronezh, 1968), "Vo ilia tvoyo" ("In the name of you", Voronezh, 1971).
