At first intended to enter the diplomatic service, but finally decided to devote himself to music. Studied under Berthold Tours. Orchestral compositions: Dramatic Overture.

Life Moods, Variations for Orchestra, Brighton Festival of 1910, etc. Has written a large numbei of songs, including three albums of German Lieder, and many to English, French, or Italian words. Also much music for the piano, violin, and violoncello. Composer and writer on music.
