1860 graduate Moscow military cadet school.
1863 refused assignment to help suppress Polish uprising, resulting in his transfer from unit to unit and finally in his exile to Turkestan. 1870 returned to central Russia. 1881, while in Odessa, recruited by V.N. Figner to join Narodnaya Volya and worked in its military organisation.
1883 toured provincial military-revol groups with the aim of coordinating their activities. Task facilitated by his rank of colonel. 1884 sentenced to death by military tribunal.
Sentecc subsequently commuted to an indefinite term at hard labor, 20 years of which were spent in Schlisselburg Fortress. September 1904 released. Until 1917 lived under police surveillance in Smolensk.
Religion is bad because it divides people, and is a cause of conflict and war.
The emphasis on peaceful coexistence doesn’t mean that the Soviet Union accepted a static world with clear lines. Socialism is inevitable and the "correlations of forces" were moving towards socialism.
