Very successfully performed in Italy, Spain, South America at first as mezzo- soprano, then as dramatic soprano: in Italy met the Russian singer N. N. Figner and became his regular partner. 1887 came to Russia; 1889 married N. N. Figner. 1887-1912 soloist, St. Petersburg Mariins- kiy Theater.
Until 1923 stage work, then instructor. 1930 left Russia; possessed great acting talent and a voice of rare beauty and compass. Under Tchaikovsky’s guidance prepared and was the first to perform the roles of Liza in Pikovaya dama (The Queen of Spades) and the title role in ’Tolanthe".
Roles: Desdemona in Verdi’s "Othello”. Margarethc in "Faust”. Carmen: Brunhilde in Wagner’s "Walkure”.
