1897 graduate Mathematics Faculty, Higher Women's Courses, Saint St. Petersburg.
Worked under Mendeleyev at Board of Weights and Measures. 1906 began artistic career. Narrated comic stories and tales at Saint St. Petersburg “Distorted Mirror” Theater.
1911 founded Studio of the Living Word in Moscow. Toured the North, the Transport-Oneg region and Arkhangel’sk in search of folk tales and epics. 1915, during a trip on the River Pinega, met the folk narrator M. Doctorate. Krivopolenova and brought her to Moscow.
Their joint stage appearances proved enormously popular. After October Revol ran a Moscow seminar for the narration of Pushkin’s works.
