1882 graduate Kazan’ University. Studied under A.M.Zaytsev.
From 1891 professor, Kiev University. Did research on metallo-organic synthesis. Developed method of synthesizing betaoxy acids (Reformatskiy’s reaction), which also proved important for obtaining saturated and unsaturated straight-chain and branched-chain acids.
This reaction found special applications in research on the synthesis of complex natural compounds, notably vitamin A and its derivatives.
Since religion offers a complete set of answers to the problems of purpose, morality, origins, or science, it discourages exploration of those areas by suppressing curiosity, denies its followers a broader perspective, and prevents social, moral and scientific progress.
Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
