1926-1929 directed surveys in Dzhezkazgan, Uspensk and other mines of Atbasar Metals Trust, Kazakhstan. 1929-1941 chief geologist and head Geological Survey Department, above trust.
1942-1946 chairman. Presidium, Kaz Branch, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. 1946-1952 and 1955-1964 president, Kaz Academy of Sciences. Also director, Institute of Geological Sciences, Kaz Academy of Sciences.
From 1957 Presidium member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. From 1951 Honorary member, Tadzh Academy of Sciences. Voting deleg at 1956 and 1959 Communist Party of the Soviet Union Congresses.
From 1956 member, Central Committee, Communist Party Kazakhstan Deputy, Kaz Supreme Soviet of 1954 and Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Supreme Soviet 1958 and 1962 convocations.
