1919 stage director, Bolshoy Drama Theater. Then at various Leningrad theaters: at State People's Center, Liga Drama Theater, Red Theater, et cetera 1927-1929 stage director, 1929-1935 chief stage director and artistic director, Bolshoy Drama Theater.
From 1922 taught drama. From 1936 worked at Karl Marx Theater and Chernyshevskiy Opera and Ballet Theater, Saratov. Arrested by State Security organs.
