Oleg Divov (Sklyarenko) was born in 1968 in the family of restoration artists. From childhood, he was interested in literature and dreamed of becoming a science fiction writer.

Being a schoolboy Oleg started to write materials for press and subsequently, he chose a journalist formation as the fastest way to the first book publication.
He served in the Soviet Army (self-propelled artillery of high power) from 1987–1989. Divov published his book "Weapon of Retaliation" composed from his memories about military service 20 years later.
He entered the MSU faculty of journalism, but he was expelled for academic debts and non-attendance in 1991. He worked in journalism and was engaged in advertising since 1990.
Oleg Divov large piece of art "The Dog Master" novel came out in 1997. It was included into "Trail of the Zombie" trilogy. Other novels from this series "Steel Heart" and "Brothers in reason" also came out in 1997. Aspiring writer first books gained recognition among readers and in few years, Divov became one of the most popular Russian fantasy writers. He succeed thanks to such novels and stories as "The Young and the strong will survive" (publishing name "The Law of the Frontier", 1998), "The Best Crew of the Solar" (1998), "Culling" (1999), "The Interpretation of Dreams", "The Saboteur" (2000), "Night Watcher" (2004), "Other actions" (2004), "Billy has a thingy" (2005), "Brave" (2006), "Weapon of vengeance" (2007), "Symbionts" (2010), "Stupid Questions Consultant" (2012), (2013), "The lady does not move" (2013).
Divov "K-10"(2003), "Hazardous occupations" (2008), "Shooting at plates" (2009) storybooks came out in 2000s.
Moreover, Oleg Divov is the author of "Exclusive interview" (2008) play, several essays on literary fiction and "Do not lean against the doors. The truth about underground" documentary book (coauthored with Maxim Rublev, 2011).
He is a member of the Union of Russian Writers, of the Council on science fiction and adventure literature at the Union of Russian Writers.
The creativity of Divov is reflected in some of his books. The first his large work "Dog Master" is devoted to the author’s dog, Caucasian Shepherd named Karma. In this book author included his observations, thoughts and even recommendations based on his own experience with dogs. Memories of participating in intellectual games "Brain ring" and "Svoya igra" became the materials for "The Young and the strong will survive" ("The Law of the Frontier") novel. Skiing and skateboarding hobbies allowed Divov to reflect persuasively professional sportsman’s thoughts and feelings in "The interpretation of dreams" story.
Oleg Divov fantastic works cover wide range of topics and simulate various socio-psychological situation. In his books, characters are representatives of different social classes and occupations: dashing toilet service workers from the home for mentally retarded adults ("Hazardous occupations") and intellectual games participants ("The Young and the strong will survive"), world-class athletes ("The interpretation of dreams") and Russian emigrants burglars ("Crowbar Law for the closed circuit"), priest at the distant planet military base ("Saboteur"), and chat moderator, escaping from reality on the Internet ("Other Actions"). In the "industrial" stories and novels, Divov recreates the atmosphere of creative search and complex system of relationships within the team ("K-10", "Symbionts", "Objects in the rearview mirror"). Characters fight with zombies ("Dog Master") and vampires ("Night Watcher"), tolerate absurd and senseless cruelty of military life ("Weapon of Retaliation") and engage in space battles ("The Best Crew of the Solar"). Events in "Brave" novel take place in ancient Russia, in the main character is Ilya Urmanin you can easily recognize Ilya Muromets, and the novel itself is rather historical reconstruction with a minimum of fantastic assumptions than a Slavic fantasy.
With all motley external circumstances, the characters of different books embody the same type: professionals, passionate about the work and take responsibility for their actions, romantics under the guise of cynics that hide their doubt and anxiety behind self-confidence.
Oleg Divov married to Svetlana Prokopchik. They hava two sons from previous marriages.
