A graduate at the age of twenty at Collingsworth Institute in Talbotton. His architectural training was acquired at the University of Georgia .
After studies he settled at Macon where he entered the office of the late Alexander Blair.
During many years of independent practice in the state Mr. Dennis was commissioned to design a number of important buildings, among which were the Centennary Methodist Church; the Bibb Building; American National Bank; Macon Savings Bank; and the City Auditorium, the latter in association with Egbert Swartwout in 1925. He was also architect of the Carnegie Library at Cuthbert, Ga., the Cuthbert High School, and Carolyn Hall, Bible Training School, Albany
