Background
Peter was born in1919 in Maloe Aleshkino, Velikoluksky uyezd, Pskov Governorate, Russian Federation. He was born in the family of peasants. A monument and a memorial plaque were erected in 2005 and in 2007 in the village of Pukhovo and at the place of battles.
Education
Peter graduated from Kharkov Tank School in 1941.
Career
The commander of a company of a separate Guards tank regiment breakthrough (Voronezh Front). In the course of the Ostrogozhsko-Rossoshanskoye offensive operation of 1943, Kozlov’s troop breached the enemy’s defenses near the village of Shchuchye on January 14, 1943, and, pursuing him, liberated the settlement of Petrovskaya, Kolomytsevo, and Pukhovo of the Liskinsky district. In these battles, the crew of Senior Lieutenant Kozlov, who was mortally wounded, was particularly distinguished. He was buried at the place of the fighting.
