Peter Ivanovich Reutskiy was a Russian poet, member of the Union of Writers of the USSR, author of more than 20 collections of poems, published mainly in Irkutsk.
Background
Peter Ivanovich Reutskiy was born on November 8, 1927 in Mikhaylovka, Voronezh region, Russian Federation. His father was a cossack, a participant of the 1st World War. In February 1930, his parents were dispossessed and, together with their children, were sent to settle in Yakutia.
Education
In 1943, Peter Ivanovich ran away from his home to Yakutsk. In 1949, he returned to his native village, where his parents had already been (since 1947), completed 6-month courses in cultural education of workers, and was in charge of a rural library.
In 1951, the family moved to Irkutsk. Peter Ivanovich graduated from the Higher Literary Courses (Moscow, 1960). In 1981-1993 he lived in the Yaroslavl region, then returned to Irkutsk.
Career
In 1949 Peter Ivanovich was in charge of a rural library. Author of more than 20 collections of poems, published mainly in Irkutsk, including "Giants" (1956), "Hot Key" (1971), "Difficult Bread" (1980), "Motives of My Autumn" (1985). The autobiographical novel in verses "The Second Baptism" (Irkutsk, 1997) recreates a picture of the difficult fate of the Reutsky family.
