Petr Zrelov graduated from the Moscow Electrotechnical Institute of Communications (1965-1970), specializing in Radio Engineering. In 1974 he entered and in 1976 graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
After graduation from the postgraduate course at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology "Kometa" in 1985 Petr Zrelov defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of technical sciences, which was based on the development of decentralized control systems for large associations.
After graduation, Petr Zrelov entered the Central Research Institute "Comet", where he worked from 1970 to 1975 as an engineer, then a senior engineer. From 1975 to 1977 Petr worked as the head of the programming department of the Computer Center of the Moscow Construction Company Stroibank USSR, then head of the laboratory of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute for Industrial Automated Control Systems of the Ministry of Applied Sciences of the USSR (1977-1980), the chief designer of the Automated Control and Automation System-Minavtoprom. From 1980 to 1984 he was the chief technologist of computer technology at the head of the chief technologist of the Ministry of Automotive Industry of the USSR, from 1984 to 1987 - deputy director of economics at the Kama Association for the Production of Heavy Vehicles (KamAZ).
In 1987 Petr Zrelov created the first joint Soviet-American enterprise in the field of computer technology and programming - Dialog.
