Bachelor of Arts, University of Vermont, 1861, A.M., 1864. Bachelor of Laws, Albany Law School, 1872. Unmarried. Stenographic court reporter at Albany until 1882.

President New York State Law Stenographers’ Association, 1878-1879. President Alumni of University of Vermont, 1891-1892.

Career

Began publication of a series of stories and sketches portraying the life of the people in Northern and Central New York in Atlantic Monthly, 1873.
