Career
He played on the Professional Golf Association Tour from 1985 to 2000 and now plays on the Champions Tour. He was the tallest player on the Professional Golf Association Tour during his time on tour, standing 6"7". He played college golf at the University of Texas where he was a three-time All-Southwest Conference selection.
Blackmar played on mini-tours for a few years before earning his 1985 Professional Golf Association Tour card by finishing second at the 1984 qualifying school.
He stopped playing the tour after the 2000 season and worked as an analyst and commentator for United States. television networks. After turning 50 in September 2007, Blackmar began playing on the Champions Tour.
