Lin, Pi-Yao was born on March 3, 1942 in Chia-Yi, Taiwan. Son of Ching-Chuan and Liu (Yang) Lin.

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Tunghai University, Taichung, Taiwan, 1965. Master of Science in Biochemistry, Taiwan University, Taipei, 1969. Master of Science in Nutrition, Michigan State University, 1977.

Career

Teaching assistant chemistry department, Tunghai U., Taichung, 1966-1967; lecturer chemistry department, Tunghai U., Taichung, 1969-1973; acting chairman chemistry department, Tunghai U., Taichung, 1972-1973; associate professor of chemistry department, Tunghai U., Taichung, 1973-1979; professor of chemistry department, Tunghai U., Taichung, since 1979.

Vice-chairman Taiwan Environmental Protection Union, Taipei, 1987-1989, 90-91, chairman, 1989-1990. Vice-chairman Anti-Nuke Coalition for Taiwan, Taichung, since 1992. Second lieutenant Taiwan Air Force, 1965-1966, Taipei.
