Pierre LeBrun was born in 1846 in United States.
He was associated with his father and brother Michael on a number of buildings in New York, but will be longer remembered as the organizer and founder of the LeBrun Traveling Scholarship, the value of which has been amply proved by the distinguished record of LeBrun students. In 1910 he established through the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the Le Brun Traveling Scholarship, which gives $1,000 for six months of travel in Europe to any architect or draughtsman, a citizen of the United States not under twenty-three nor over thirty years old, recommended by a member, and successful in the competition.
Pierre LeBrun also founded the Williard collection of architectural casts in New York's Metropolitan Museum, the Library bearing his name at the Museum, and later he established an Art Library at Mont-clair, N. J.
He was elected an associate member of the American Institute of Architects in 1883 and was made a Fellow in 1889.
