Career
In 1920's and 1930's worked at Leningrad University, Centr Archives and Archeographical Commission, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. Then at Institute of History, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. Specialized in Russian soc life and lit of 19th and 20th Centuries.
Studied history of 1905 and 1917 Revol. Made a detailed study of Ivan the Terrible’s “oprichnina” (secret police) system.
Religion
