From 1924 worked under Staten Island Spasokukotskiy and Anugrah Narayan Bakulev at surgical clinics, Moscow University. 1932-1941 worked at Ccntr Institute of Blood Transfusion. 1941-1944 chief surgeon at an evacuation hospital on Western Front, then chief surgeon.
North Caucasian Front. 1945-1955 chief surgeon, Soviet Air Force. From 1945 also head, Chair of Surgical Diseases, Moscow Stomatological Institute.
Did research on acute intestinal blockage, pathogenesis and treatment of peritonitis, surgical treatment of hypertonia and use of antibiotics. Developed glucose-citrate blood conservation method. And an anti-shock solution which was used during World War 2.
Wrote some 120 works.
