In 1893 Pyotr Ivanovich graduated from Oryol Theological Seminary and then in 1900 from the Law faculty of Yurievsk University.
Since 1889 works of Pyotr Ivanovich were published in the provincial and metropolitan newspapers, the magazine "Russian wealth", "Russian Gazette" and others.
He is the author of a collection of essays and stories "Sketches" (St. Petersburg, 1898-1910), the book "Maxim Gorky and Leonid Andreev. Their lives and works "(Riga, 1903).
In the mid-1890s, he was engaged in historical, ethnographic and economic study of the territory of central Russia. As a result of this work, materials describing the Voronezh province and other provinces were published in the scientific and literary collection "The Native Land" (Oryol, 1899).
