Pyotr Ivanovich finished 7 classes in a factory training school. He graduated from the Batay Military Aviation School of Pilots (now Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots) in 1940.
Pyotr Ivanovich worked as a mechanic in the tram depot. He worked as an instructor after graduating from the Dnepropetrovsk Aeroclub. In 1938 he joined the Red Army. After the war, Pyotr Ivanovich continued service in the air force. He was a military pilot of the 1st class. All the remaining years he worked at the airport.
