In 1957 Pyotr Kuzmich Kotov entered the Voronezh agricultural Institute, which he graduated from in 1962 and was sent to work in the collective farm "Druzhba" Pavlovsky district as a chief livestock specialist.
In 1968, the farmers unanimously elected Pyotr Kuzmich Kotov as Chairman of collective farm "Druzhba" of the Pavlovsk district (nowadays - agricultural guild the stud farm "Druzhba", the Pokrovka village). From 1980 to 1990 Kotov was the deputy of the Supreme Council of RSFSR from the Voronezh region.
Under the direct guidance of Kotov the new breed of cows - red and motley were breeded. For achievement of high efficiency in breeding work the collective farm was given the status of the stud farm.
In 2003 on milk yield the agricultural guild took the 1st place among the breeding farms of Russia parting red and motley breed.
The winner of award "the Golden Fund of Voronezh District" (2002), the honourable citizen of the Voronezh region (2004), Order of Lenin, Order of the October Revolution, Order of the Red Banner of Labour, Order of Friendship of Peoples.
