Qi Zhou, Chinese Biomedical researcher. Achievements include discovery that oxysterols have much stronger stimulating effects than cholesterol does on intracellular calcium accumulation through activating sphingomyelin synthesis and phosphatidylinositol synthesis/turnover, and through inserting themselves into cellular membrane, resulting in an increase in calcium influx.
