R. Vijendra Rao, Indian wood anatomist, researcher. Achievements include first reports of discovering multiple perforation plates in vessels of Sonneratia, Euodia, perforated ray cells in Myrsinaceae, Loganiaceae and Santalaceae woods; solved controversy of occurence of broad rays in timbers of Indian Fagaceae. Member Indian Academy Wood Science (editor 1998), Timber Development Association India, Bamboo Society India.
