Odinga, Raila Amolo was born on January 7, 1945 in Maseno, Kenya. Son of Jaramogi Oginga and Mary Juma Odinga.

Graduate, Herder Institute, Leipzig, Germany. Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Otto von Guericke Technology Institute, Magdeberg, Germany.

Career

Assistant lecturer department mechanical engineering University Nairobi, Kenya, 1970—1974. Group standards manager Kenya Bureau Standards, 1974—1975, deputy director, 1975—1982. Incarcerated, 1982—1991.

Member Kenyan Parliament, since 1992. Prime minister Republic of Kenya, since 2008. Co-founder Franz, Schineis and Partners.

Founder Standard Processing Equipment Construction & Erection (renamed East Africa Spectre, Ltd.).
