Ram Behari was born on April 25, 1897 in Delhi, India. He was the son of Jai Narain and Radha Rani.
Ram Behari graduated from Punjab University in 1920. Ram Behari received his Doctor of Philosophy in 1932 and his Doctor of Science in 1945 at the University of Dublin.
From 1920 till 1947 Ram Behari worked as a lecturer at St. Stephen's College in Delhi. During 1947-1962 he was a professor and a head of mathematics department at the University of Delhi. Since 1962 Ram Behari was a director of correspondence courses at the University of Delhi.
