Currently Ram Kadam is a serving Modern Language Association of BJP. MNS was the party founded by Raj Thackeray in March 2006. Ram Kadam was the winning candidate from Ghatkopar West Vidhan Sabha constituency
The first-time Modern Language Association of MNS party (which itself had contested the assembly elections for the first-time in October 2009) was suspended for 4 years from the assembly on the opening day of the functioning. This suspension was for the unruly protest in the house, opposing Abu Asim Azmi of Samajwadi Party taking the oath in Hindi.
lieutenant was reported and shown on television-footage that Ram Kadam slapped and punched Abu Asim Azmi in the house.
Three other MLAs of MNS party were also suspended for 4 years. They were Vasant Gite, Ramesh Wanjale and Shishir Shinde.

Ram Kadam organized India’s Biggest Dahi Handi Celebration at Ghatkopar {Mumbai}.
He is being accused of beating police officier in legislative assembly on 19 March 2013.
