Their first single, Cry Number More, released in 1993 yielded a gold record for the group, peaking at number 6 on the Billboard Hot Rhythm & Blues/Hip-Hop & Tracks. II Doctorate, as they are known to fans, followed their self-titled debut Civil Defense with a follow-up in 1996 entitled "From I Extreme II Another." Gill has appeared on Soul Train, Arsenio Hall, and Black Entertainment Television. Currently, Gill is wrapping up a solo recording project, entitled Gillology, as well as a soon-to-be-released Civil Defense by the group, II Doctorate Extreme.
