Career

Admitted to Pittsburgh Annual Conference Methodist Episcopal Church, 1909, ordained to ministry, 1911, commissioned missionary to Buitenzorg, Java, October 1911. Served as missionary, 1911-1920, superintendent Java District, 1921-1922. Superintendent Sumatra Mission (Medan), 1924-1929.

Treasurer Methodist Mission and mission superintendent Annual Conference (Singapore), 1933-1942. Assistant treasurer Methodist Board Missions New York City, 1942-1944, associate secretary Methodist Board Missions New York City, 1945-1950, bishop Singapore Area from 1950.
