At the time of her death, she was the longest living chassidic rebbitzen in recorded history. She died at the age of 105 in 2007. Her son, Rabbi Meyer Shapiro (1920-1998), was the chief rabbi of Buenos Aires and chairman of the Iggud HaRabonim of America.
