Sledge educated at Epsom College and Peterhouse, Cambridge. After curacies at Emmanuel Church, Plymouth and Street Stephen’s Exeter he held incumbencies Dronfield and Hemingford Abbots He was the Archdeacon of Huntington from 1978 to 1989.
