Commissioned First lieutenant, United States Army, May 6, 1917, and advanced through grades to brigadier general, 1942. Served World War I; overseas assignment with 5th Army and 15th Army Group in Italy. In Africa and Austria with (General Mark W. Clark.

Signal officer, 4th Army, Fort Sam Houston, 1947-1950. General manager Imperial Board Telecommunications of Ethiopia, 1951-1952. Now administrator civil defense Kerr County, Texas.
