Richard Frederick Mayer, American Neurologist, educator. Achievements include establishment of techniques of nerve conduction in man; definition of the nature of the F wave in man, of the structure of the motor unit in the cat, of the physiological defect in myasthenia gravis in man; research on new treatments in neuromuscular disease. Grantee National Institutes of Health, 1968-1975, 85-93; recipient certified VA Medical Board, Washington,1982.
