Rifu Yukitomo was an editor of Osaka Shimpo (newspaper), later served with Scenario Department of Shochiku Motion Picture Company and then joined Shinkokugeki Troupe. He wrote for Shojiro Sawada, leading actor of the troupe,KunisadaChuji, Tsitkigata Rampeita and other dramas which are still hit plays for the troupe. His representative novel is Shura Hakko (Activity of Asiira) which appeared serially in the Asahi Shim.bun (1926).
