Education

Rikiya Nishimura graduated from Yamagata Normal School (1929) and then taught at elementary schools in Yamagata Prefecture (until 1947).

Career

Rikiya Nishimura became director of General Affairs Department and Information & Publicity Department of Yamagata Prefectural Teachers Union (1946), chief secretary of the same union (1950) and chairman of Executive Committee of the same union (1951). Elected to House of Representatives on Left-Wing Socialist ticket (1953).
