He attended Tokyo University, but left while halfway through a course in French Literature to devote himself to writing.
His style was free and easy and directed at the layman. His works include: Ginza Hatcho (Eight Blocks of Ginza Street), Gekai-no Nagame (View of the World Below), "Violence" and "Nippon Fourth Rate Opera".
