Background

Rishikesh Upadhyay was born, grew up and lives in a small Nepalis’ hamlet, Bhanjang Basti, Haflong (also known as Bhanjyang or Bhanjung Basti), via Mahadev Tilla, just a few kilometres of Haflong, the district headquarters of North Cachar Hills (now Dima Hasao), India. He was born to Indian nepali parents, Pitambar Upadhaya (father) and Nandakala (Bawni) Upadhaya (mother). His late father was in the Northeast Frontier Railway service and mother, a homemaker.

Achievements

• Rishikesh Upadhyay is best known for his writings and research works, for which he has won several national and international awards. His works have been appeared, quoted and cited in several international journals and books. He has been listed several times as a note-worthy researcher and educator by Marquis Who’s Who. A member in the editorial boards of several international scientific journals, and also been elected as a fellow by different academic and scholastic societies.
