Early in his career, Bleiberg worked as an associate editor on Prudden’s Digest of Investment and Banking Options.
He began forty-five years at Barron’s in 1946, first as associate editor of Barron's National Business and Financial Weekly. He became editor in the mid-1950s and was named vice president of Dow Jones magazines in 1980. A year later he became a publisher at Barron’s and served in that capacity until 1989. He also served as editorial director beginning in 1982, until his retirement nine years later.
In addition to editing the publication, he also contributed to a weekly column at Barron's. Bleiberg penned a book titled Tax Reform: Real or Spurious?
