Robert Gerhart, III earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York, in 1965 and an Master of Fine Art from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1969.
Career
Since 1973 he has been assistant professor of art at University of North Carolina, Greensboro. From 1969 to 1973 he was an instructor at the School of the Dayton Art Institute, Ohio.
Gerhart won University of North Carolina faculty grants in 1975, 1977 and 1978. Gerhart has produced books that are "serial works combining collage, montage, copy work, and repainting directly over photographs."
