The fourth book of Robert Humphrey's holiday series sheds even more light on the lives of Jamie and Tessie following their adoption into the Steele household. Another Christmas brings them the opportunity to learn that life is filled with difficult lessons and unexpected events that can test their faith beyond anything they have yet experienced. With the help of a mysterious dog, they learn that the magic of Christmas is more than imaginary and that commonplace happenings can be miraculous.
From 1965 to 1968, Humphrey attended West Texas State University (now West Texas A&M University), Central State University from 1969 to 1971, and Methodist College from 1977 to 1978.

Humphrey had carried with him an interest in the science of cloning ever since he first heard the concept in high school biology class. It intrigued him that man might someday duplicate himself outside the normal procreative process and that the door might open to perpetually replacing organs and body parts as they deteriorated beyond normal usage. He always questioned the ethics of human duplication in this manner and it seemed natural to him that cloned humans might not be sentient or even cooperative beings. On the other hand, perhaps man could make them superior through genetic manipulation. As the science of cloning moves from the realms of science fiction into reality, the possibilities become an endless supply of story ideas.
On October 10, 1969, Humphrey married Johanna B. They have no children.
