Rochelle Goldberg Ruthchild completed her studies at Hofstra University, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in 1962. She attended University of Wisconsin—Madison and finished it in 1960. In 1964 she earned from University of Rochester Master of Arts degree and in 1976 Doctor of Philosophy. From 1978-1979 she did a postdoctoral study at Leningrad State University (now Saint Petersburg State University).
Between 1974 and 1978 Mrs. Ruthchild was a member of core faculty for Goddard-Cambridge Graduate Program in Social Change at Goddard College, Plainfield, VT, From 1979 to 1981 she was a member of core faculty for graduate program. Rochelle Goldberg Ruthchild served at Norwich University, Northfield, VT, began as assistant professor and later she became an associate professor (1981-1987), professor of graduate studies, since 1988, director of Russian School in 1988-1995.
From 1972-1976 Rochelle Goldberg Ruthchild was a president and member of coordinating committee at Women’s Educational Center (Cambridge, MA). In 1992-1994 Mrs. Ruthchild acted as a member of board of directors of North Brookline Neighborhood Association.
