Shortly after receiving his degree, Roger accepted the position of "Architect Auxiliar’ on Government buildings being erected in Cuba during the period of the American Intervention from 1908 to 1909, and in his work assisted in designing Court Houses, Custom Houses, and schools built on the island.
Upon his return to New York Mr. Bullard entered the office of Grosvenor Atterbury, and in a later period from 1916 to 1920 practiced under the firm name of Goodwin, Bullard & Woolsey. During his remaining years Mr. Bullard maintained an individual practice in Manhattan, active in designing varied types of buildings. Among his most important achievements were: Barney's Market at Flushing; U. S. Post Office Building, Floral Park, New York, Oakland Golf Club, Bayside, United States, Country Club, Plainfield, and Chapel at the Kent School in Connecticut, United States. Also, he was associated with Philip Goodwin on an Office Building in Hartford, Connecticut, United States; with the firm of Tooker & Marsh on the Junior-Senior High School, Manhasset, United States. Also collaborated with Mr. Goodwin and Kenneth Franzheim on an apartment house at 400 East 57th Street, in which his work was designing the exterior.
