Rokuemon Kaneko was born in 1680.
Rokuemon Kaneko was a pupil of Yagozaemon Fukui, a famous dramatist.
Rokuemon Kaneko made the stage his career from an early age and was much appreciated by audiences at both Kyoto and Osaka. Later (1680) he became manager of a theater at Osaka, and created a sensation when he acted in the play Yugiri Nagori-no-Shogatsu (Evening Mist at New Year's).
