Rokuo Ikenohata was born in 1780.
Lived during the Edo Period and was the fourth generation to hold the title of Rokusaburo Kineya. He composed Kanjincho and many other famous pieces. Later turning over his title to his eldest son, he retired and lived beside the Shinobazu pond in Ueno Park. People then began calling him Ike-nohata-no-Roku.
