This monograph delivers a comprehensive survey for environmental trace analysts, analytical chemists, ecotoxicologists, food scientists and experienced lab workers.
Kallenborn was educated in biology and chemistry from Technical University of Kaiserslautern. He was given a Dr. rer. nat. (Doctor rerum naturalium) from the University of Hamburg in 1993.
Kallenborn began his career as a postdoctoral fellow at Norwegian Institute for Air Research in 1993. Two years later he took a position of a research scientist at the University of Basel. Then in 1996, Roland became a senior scientist at Norwegian Institute for Air Research, where he worked until 2010.
In 2005, he was appointed a professor at the University Centre in Svalbard. Three years later Kallenborn became an adjunct professor at that centre. Since 2010 he has been a professor at the Faculty of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Food Science at Norwegian University of Life Sciences. He has been working with method development and optimization issues for trace level characterisation of organic contaminants.
