1967
Roland Dale Snow was hired at East Stroudsburg State College (now East Stroudsburg University) in 1968 to teach courses in speech and theatre. In his first two years, he developed two new courses: Introduction to Mass Media, and Art and History of the Film. Snow continued to develop courses in this area and did much to increase the study of communication at ESSC. In 1972, following the directive from the PA Department of Education to develop communication degree programs, Snow was instrumental in the development of ESSC's first communication degree program, for which he served as coordinator for three years. He served in this capacity until his death in October, 1976.

Snow was the son of Ray Snow and Marguerite Cecilia Snow. He also had two sisters.
