Ronald Binks specialized in fine arts at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1956, and studied at the Yale School of Design under Herbert Matter, completing an Master of Fine Arts in 1960. He also studied privately with Minor White.
Ronald Binks has been the director of the Division of Art & Design at the University of Texas in San Antonio. In 1968 he established the Department of Film Making at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Ronald Binks is a member of SPE and the CAA.
